This FAQ explains Maxthon VIP (gold), Maxthon Media Plus, Maxthon Pro, and how they interact with separate product subscriptions. Exact benefits, prices, and promotions follow what you see in the member center after signing in.
Contacting support: Use the contact options shown in the member center (for example, after a successful payment or in the member center UI). For billing disputes, refunds, invoices, account merges, or region/product mismatches, please prepare your Maxthon account, order or payment screenshots, and when it happened.
For a full list of VIP (gold) benefits, see Q2 below. This answer focuses on Media Plus and Pro only.
Maxthon Media Plus generally includes: unlimited video downloads, Basic tier UUGPT, and benefits aligned with Maxthon VIP membership (see the member page for the exact list).
Maxthon Pro generally adds, on top of Media Plus: Pro tier UUGPT, Pro tier UUMail, and storage benefits from the file-sharing product. The file-sharing product is usually 66 Chuan (66传) in Mainland China and Pushray elsewhere (follow what your member page actually shows).
Member sales pages are scoped to what can be bought in your region — you should not see mixed cross-region offers you cannot purchase. If what you use and what the sales page shows do not match, contact support.
VIP membership is the gold tier. Any VIP description in the Maxthon member center refers to the same browser-side base membership. Typical benefits usually include (exact counts, quotas, client builds, and platform support follow the member center, Compare Benefits dialog, and live product):
The Compare Benefits table is optimized for side-by-side differences vs Media Plus / Pro (video tier, AI tier, mail, cloud, etc.) and may not list every browser-side perk above. If the table feels “thin” for VIP, use this answer as the fuller checklist. If the page disagrees with this FAQ, the page wins.
That message is expected. If you already have a separate subscription above the default tier bundled with Maxthon membership, turning on Maxthon membership does not cancel or replace that separate subscription’s terms or expiry; while it is active, your effective tier is the higher one.
How it works today: After the separate subscription expires, the system does not yet automatically move you back to the tier included in Maxthon membership; you may see a transitional state (e.g. shown as free). If your Maxthon membership is still active and you want to use it at the tier you paid for, contact Maxthon support — we will manually align your benefits to your Maxthon membership tier and may grant extra time where appropriate.
They bill separately: Maxthon membership (Media Plus and Pro) and per-product subscriptions (e.g. UUGPT, UUMail) each have their own billing. If you do not cancel them, each can keep charging. The feature tier you actually use is the higher of the two; follow what the member center shows.
Billing cycles for Maxthon membership and per-product subscriptions can differ. If there was time merge, chaining, or conversion, expiry dates for each benefit may not line up. Use the dates on each benefit card in the member center; your next charge date comes from subscription management or your payment provider.
On upgrade, remaining Media Plus value is usually converted by price ratio into extra Pro time (see payment and system processing for the exact result). Your next billing date follows the new subscription rules and may not fall on the same calendar day as the benefit expiry after extension.
The product does not support downgrading directly from Pro to Media Plus. To keep only Media Plus, you normally wait until the current Pro period ends or auto-renew is off and the term has ended, then subscribe to Media Plus again if the page allows it at that time.
Yes. With Media Plus or Pro active, you can still buy a higher tier inside each product; benefits usually use the higher tier; you may pay extra subscription fees. In some cases the system may credit the lower tier included in Maxthon membership toward the higher tier, often as equivalent higher-tier time for the remaining lower-tier period, continuing after your next payment date.
To avoid double billing and rule conflicts, when Maxthon membership already covers a tier, you usually cannot add a same-tier or lower-tier subscription for that feature; follow on-page prompts in the member center or the product.
A single failed charge usually does not take back time you already gained through merges or credits. If a charge fails before the current period ends, auto-renew is usually treated as turned off: you keep access until the current expiry, then renew manually (follow your payment provider’s wording).
No. Unlimited-period video download is not cancelled or shortened by subscribing to the Maxthon memberships above; the checkout page states this as well.
The cloud storage line bundled with Maxthon Pro follows region and rules at payment (e.g. Mainland China often 66 Chuan, other regions often Pushray). It does not auto-sync with whether you registered on another product line. If what you see does not match how you use the product, contact Maxthon support with your Maxthon account, order, and which storage product you want; support will help verify and adjust.
Data may take a short time to sync after payment; refresh or try again later. If status still does not show, contact support with proof of payment.
VIP membership is usually the tier you get with Maxthon gold; browser-side benefits are summarized in Q2. Media Plus / Pro follow separate paid subscription rules with a different benefit set. How they relate is on the member page comparison and notes; upgrade paths follow what the page shows.
If VIP (gold) is still active and you start or renew Media Plus / Pro, the system usually converts remaining VIP time at an internal reference price into extra Media / Pro time and adds it (common reference: USD $3 for 3000 gold as one month of VIP-tier value, about $2.98/month equivalent for conversion; exact days and rounding follow the member page expiry after payment completes).
Besides region / product-line issues in Q13, e.g. refunds, duplicate charges, missing orders, merging two Maxthon accounts, promo price not matching the page, proof-of-purchase requests — contact support and keep orders and screenshots for faster handling.
This FAQ complements the Maxthon Browser Member Service Agreement and on-page notices. If anything conflicts, the agreement and the product pages prevail.
